Matt is a sought-after senior and finishing editor with 12 years of freelance experience. Working primarily on Avid, he skilfully uses interviews, B-roll, music, archive footage and graphics to create tightly knit narratives, resulting in gripping, exciting and emotionally engaging films.

Matt loves working alongside directors and edit producers as part of a team – but is also proud owner of a fully equipped ‘edit shed’ in South London, able to connect to any remote setup or run as a standalone suite.

 

ROLES

Offline Editor Matt has completed over 60 films for major broadcasters and streamers, regularly receiving feedback from directors and edit producers highlighting his calm, collaborative style, and ability to finish complex projects to a high standard.

Senior / Lead Editor Matt has a strong track record of work as lead editor on a series, often taking on an Episode 1 alongside the scrutiny that comes with that. Then moving to a series finishing role to apply the series style across the board.

Fixing / Finishing Editor Matt has often picked up difficult or tricky edits. His strong editorial ability and experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders allows him to find solutions to complex filmmaking problems.

Director / Edit Producer Matt has operated as a director and / or edit producer on several projects, alongside his usual editing role. His breadth of experience in the edit suite allows for a strong overall vision to the earlier stages of production.

 

Matt’s skillset includes writing voiceover, commissioning graphics, and addressing feedback, as required.
